Joseph S. Hubicki

Joe Hubicki is an experienced litigator and trial attorney.  He received his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law and B.A., summa cum laude, from Brooklyn College.  Mr. Hubicki began his career at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in New York City. He admitted to practice law in the courts of New York and Connecticut and in the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.  He is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association and New York State Trial Lawyers Association.  Mr. Hubicki’s concentration is in the area of divorce, landlord-tenant, personal injury, general litigation and labor and employment law.  Mr. Hubicki currently serves as General Counsel for the Exhibition Employees Union Local 829, I.A.T.S.E.

Ellyn J. Ulfsson

 

Ellyn Ulfsson has extensive experience in all aspects of civil litigation.  Her current concentration is in the areas of Special Education and Employment Discrimination Law. 

Ellyn’s expertise in Special Education Law provides families with comprehensive advocacy services in support of children with special needs, including:

 

• Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 Plan requirements;
• Development and creation of IEP (Individualized Education Plans) based on individual needs;
• Representing clients at PPT (Planning and Placement Team) and CSE (Committee on Special Education) meetings;
• Negotiation with School Districts to procure services and appropriate programming for special needs students; and
• Due Process and Office for Civil Rights (OCR) hearings and mediation.

Ellyn also handles the Firm’s Employment Law practice with a focus on Title VII and ADEA cases for individuals who have encountered discrimination in the work place, based on age, race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.

 

Ellyn graduated from Clark University majoring in Government, attended American University Program on Foreign Policy in Washington, D.C., and graduated Boston University School of Law where she earned her Juris Doctor degree in 1988. 

She has been licensed to practice law in the courts of New York, Connecticut and New Jersey and the U.S. Districts Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.  Her experience includes association with the prominent law firms Cullen & Dykman and Law Offices of Harry R. Simon.
